Microsoft Forms Gets Organized with Collections

One of the most common complaints about Microsoft Forms, the tremendous survey and quiz application inside of Microsoft 365, was how frustrating combing through the drab single-tile-at-a-time interface was to users. Scrolling through what seemed like endless rows and columns of Forms while searching for the one they needed was often a point of contention for educators. Finally, a long-awaited feature will bring a remedy to this issue.

Microsoft has finally announced Forms Collections, their new feature that will enable users to create folder-like collections where Forms can be organized and sorted as a user wishes!

To begin using this feature inside of Forms, first select “All My Forms” from the main Forms landing page, and in the upper-right hand side will be a button for “New Collection”. Select this button to begin making a Collection, and then the sorting can begin! Forms can be added to Collections by drag-and-drop or by clicking the “…” on a Form and choose “Move to a Collection”.

Users can have as many Collections as needed to store and access Forms quickly and easily. Entire Collections can also be copied, deleted, or even shared (coming soon) from the “…” menu, too. There is even a list view if users prefer a vertical-stack view of their Forms versus the tiled Collections layout.

This new feature is sure to please most educators who have used Microsoft Forms in the past, but who yearned for a more organizational structure to be in place. Check your Forms to see if the update has hit, as it has started rolling out now and will continue rolling out to users into October 2021!
